After 3.1 update my iphone 3G shut down and wont boot up again!

After 3.1 update my iphone 3G shut down and wont boot up again!

I have used my iphone 3G on 3.1 software update for 2 days and it just shut down!
There's no apple boot logo when I try to start it again and it doesn't even respond to a single thing I do.
What do I do?
Has someone experienced the same issue?

Try this first:
•Reset your iPhone by holding down the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears.

I had the same problem. I had to take out the SIM card and that would work. I have had my phone do this twice to me.

Thank you very much!
I was very stressed because I just got my phone back from repair without repair! I had cracks on the back of my iphone 3G and I waited 6 weeks to get it back and they didn't even repair it!
I suppose it is because I live in Belgium = where nothing gets done!

I installed this update last week, and my phone has shut itself off no fewer than two to three times per day since I installed it. I have to find a computer and plug my phone up to it before the screen will reappear. I never had this problem, or any problem, before I installed this update!!

Same here !

Sometimes, if I call it from another phone, it wakes up.

mine too. I can't even do a reset - the Apple just keeps coming back on the screen after 10 seconds...took SIM card out and still not working!! Arrrggghhh!!
